…but I know what I like. The last time I was in NYC some friends took us out to a very hip art gallery in SoHo—a cavernous white space sparsely inhabited with unusual work. A precious, shiney piece caught my eye. It was a minimalist, polished aluminum box with several vertical slots and tabs. I loved its clean lines and precise production values, its quasi-functional appearance. I glanced over to the gallery label, to see who the artist was. There was no label! I quickly moved away checking to see if anyone had been watching me. I had been admiring the dimmer switch for the gallery lighting.
