Boulder immigrants join DC march
KGNU | Mar 19, 2010
About 100,000 people are expected to rally on the National Mall in Washington DC this Sunday to urge the Obama Administration to move forward on comprehensive immigration reform.
They’ll include students from Boulder County, members of VOICE, Voices of Immigrant Children for Education. More than 50 of them — all undocumented immigrants who were brought here as children by their parents — are journeying to DC by bus. Some don’t have any memory of their birth countries or their birth language. Many have been good students in high school but have great trouble accessing higher education because they are undocumented.
Some of the students spoke with KGNU’s Irene Rodriguez.
